OTHER HANDS
THEY STAND AMONG THE AGES,
THESE MONOLITHS OF STONE
ON LEFT AND RIGHT,
AS I DESCEND A MISTY PATH
BETWEEN
THEIR GRAY WEIGHT SURROUNDS ME
I TOUCH THEIR MOSS DAMP WALLS
AND KNOW THE ANCIENT TOUCH
OF OTHER HANDS
(MAY/25/1980)
